New Delhi: It has been reported that the cabinet will be expanded in Karnataka tomorrow and 24 people will be sworn in as ministers.
In the elections to the Karnataka Legislative Assembly held on the 10th, the Congress party won 135 of the total 224 seats and formed the government with an absolute majority. Siddaramaiah as Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Sivakumar also took oath on 20th. Subsequently, the Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly was elected. U.D. was selected as MLA for 5 times on behalf of the Congress party. Khader was unanimously elected as Speaker on 24th.
Meanwhile, negotiations for cabinet expansion were underway. It has been reported that 24 people including Priyank Kharge, son of Congress President Mallikarjuna Kharge, have been selected as ministers. The names have been finalized following discussions with the national leaders of the Congress party. Also, information has been released that the portfolios for them have been decided. Accordingly, all these 24 people are going to take office as ministers tomorrow.
In view of this, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who has gone to Delhi, met senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi at her residence. Then, he also met Rahul Gandhi. Siddaramaiah, who has released information about this on his Twitter page, has said that he met Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and discussed various issues.
