Speaking at a public meeting in Nanjangud, Siddaramaiah predicted that the Congress will come to power in the state this time. ‘I am a child of the soil here. I was born and brought up in Varuna constituency. People here consider me as a sondavadi. Whenever I represented Varuna in the past, I worked for the development of the constituency. My achievements can be seen in the lives of people here. With your blessings.. this time I am sure of victory. This is my last election,” said Siddaramaiah.
Siddaramaiah alleged that V. Somanna, who was born in Ramanagara and grew up as a political leader in Bengaluru city, was forcibly brought to Varuna by the BJP. He commented that there is a war going on between the rioters and the son of Varuna’s family in this election. Siddaramaiah made it clear that people will not leave him for money. If the BJP comes to power again, it may become difficult to breathe. If you look at the current regime… it is like this.
‘This corrupt government should be ousted and a progressive and people-friendly Congress government should be formed. It is in the hands of the voters. Congress is committed to national development. When Congress comes to power.. we will implement all the promises. People of Karnataka should think and vote. If the BJP government comes to power this time, the state of Karnataka will surely go backwards. Siddaramaiah explained that if the Congress comes to power, the people of all sections of the state will be happy.
