Karnataka Tussle: Delhi Trip Canceled At The Last Moment.. DK Said All The Best To Siddha Ramaiah!

The suspension of the post of Chief Minister of Karnataka (Karnataka CM) continues. There is a fierce competition between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar. At this moment both the leaders were summoned by the Congress High Command to Delhi. While former CM Sidda Ramaiah reached Delhi, DK canceled his visit at the last minute. At the same time he raised his voice. He indirectly commented on Sidda Ramaiah that they should have the decency to identify who is behind the party’s victory. However, the KPCC Chief revealed that the tour was canceled due to illness.

Speaking to the media on this occasion, Sonia Gandhi told me, ‘I am confident that I have led the party to victory in Karnataka’. They should have the decency to find out who is behind the victory,’ he said bitterly.

Is this an act of defiance? Shivakumar replied to the question.. ‘I don’t blackmail.. I am not such a person. Don’t imagine anything like that.. I have a mind of my own. I am not a child. I will not fall into anyone’s trap.’ DK countered Siddha Ramaiah’s comments that he has the support of majority MLA. All the best to Siddaramaiah, he said sarcastically. “Yesterday 135 MLAs expressed their opinion and passed a unanimous resolution. Some expressed their personal opinion. 135 MLAs are my strength. Congress won 135 seats under my leadership,” he said. He commented that everyone knows what happened in the last five years.

With DK’s latest comments, he has given strong signals that he will not withdraw from the contest, which has put more pressure on the CM’s choice. In this context, who is the Congress high command leaning towards? How convincing? It became exciting. Meanwhile, there are signs that senior leader Siddaramaiah has more chances. It is reported that an exercise is currently underway on how to honorably adjust PCC president DK Shivakumar.

Although Shivakumar played a key role in leading the party to power in Karnataka, it is reported that the ED and Income Tax cases against him may now become an obstacle. It is said that the party is leaning towards Siddaramaiah with the intention that if he is appointed as the CM, the BJP government at the center will create a difficult situation and it will become a problem for the Congress. As part of this, it is reported that the issue of linking the position of Deputy Chief Minister with key ministerial posts for Shivakumar is being discussed.
