LSG has announced that Karun Nair will replace KL Rahul as he retires from the IPL.
Lucknow Supergiants captain KL Rahul officially retired from the current IPL season yesterday. The Lucknow team management announced that he is out due to an injury sustained in the match against Bengaluru.
“K.L.Rahul’s tests have revealed that he has ruptured tendons, which requires surgery. We miss him a lot at this time,” the Lucknow team said in its Twitter post. It has also been informed that the Lucknow team will provide him the necessary support.
In this situation, Indian team batsman Karun Nair has been included in the Lucknow Supergiants team. The team confirmed this on their Twitter page.
Karun Nair has so far scored 1,496 runs in 76 IPL matches. He was not bid in this year’s IPL. Now it is reported that the Lucknow team is going to bid for his base price of Rs.50 lakhs.
Talking about joining the Lucknow team, Karun Nair said, “Very happy to join the Super Giants. I wish Rahul a speedy recovery. Hope he comes back strong. I am going to meet my teammates soon and give my contribution to the team,” he said.
