Doha: Kenyan-born Metro Man is the new star of Qatar’s social media amid the hype of the FIFA World Cup. Although he is not the architect of the Doha Metro, 23-year-old Abubakar Abbas has become a favorite of Qataris and visitors. By inviting people to Doha Metro through a creative method, he became popular with the people.

His innovative way of guiding visitors to the Sookh Waqif Metro Station has gone viral on social media. This young Kenyan has become a social media sensation overnight as he sits on a chair like a tennis umpire and points the board towards Souq Waqif station towards Souq Waqif station and chants ‘Metro this way, metro this way, metro this way’ with the help of his megaphone.
