The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, opened the 16th edition of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which is held at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, and its competitions continue until November 16.
Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan followed some of the competitions, and crowned a number of medal winners, as the tournament in its current edition witnesses wide global participation, attracting more than 9,000 players, both male and female, from 137 countries, of various ages and categories.
He stressed the pivotal role of this prominent sporting event in supporting efforts aimed at continuing to prepare future champions, develop their skills, and enhance their capabilities in the sport of jiu-jitsu at the local and international levels.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, pointed out the importance of the tournament in highlighting the continuous efforts made by the UAE in terms of developing the sport of jiu-jitsu and expanding the scope of its practice among members of society, based on the role of this sport in instilling the values of discipline, commitment, and developing the physical and mental capabilities of generations.
