CPM State Secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram’s hometown is Teldarupalli. There was a lot of tension in the village due to the murder of Tammineni Krishnaiah, son of Tammineni Veerabhadram Babai. This village has been a stronghold of the CPM party for decades. Krishnaiah emerged as a key leader in the CPM. Earlier he served as the President of Tekulapally Andhra Bank Cooperative. During the sarpanch election less than three years ago, Tammineni Krishnaiah, who disagreed with the CPM, withdrew his nomination.
Since then, the situation in the village has changed. In the subsequent MPTC elections, Tammineni Krishnaiah fielded his wife as an independent candidate and won as MPTC. After that, he stood independently in the co-operative society election.. and as he won two others along with him, the CPM’s supremacy seemed to be put on hold. In the background of the subsequent developments.. Tammineni Krishnaiah joined the TRS party. The former minister continues to be a follower of Tummala. With this, TRS gained strength in Veerabhadram village of Tammineni, which is a stronghold of CPM. Since then, differences between CPM and TRS have been brewing.
It seems that Krishnaiah told the Khammam Police Commissioner and other police officers several times that his life was in danger and that he should be protected. It is reported that Tummala Nageswara Rao has also told Krishnayya to be careful many times. It seems that the opponents tried to assassinate Krishnaiah several times and failed. Recently, Krishnaiah, who was participating in the Independence Day celebrations on Monday, was walking around with his followers, and was hacked to death by thugs.
Residents of Teldarupalli say that after 2001, such a tense situation prevailed in the village. A person named Veginati Venkataiah left the CPM and joined the TPP. Then the opponents cut off his legs and brutally killed him. Villagers say that after this sensational murder, there was a fear of any other party raising the flag against the CPM or contesting the elections. Again after 20 years, there was tension in the village due to the murder.
