K'jantu, The Duo From Huanca That Seeks To Win “La Voz Generaciones” With Andean Music

The Davilasa duo made up of Dante and Paul, from Christian Yaipén’s team, are the favorites to raise the cup for “La voz generaciones” in the grand finale this Saturday, January 14. “We feel a lot of responsibility because we are taking our Andean music to this platform. and it is a way of showing our Peru”, expressed Dante Dávila, in conversation with La República.

The Dávilas in “The Generations Voice”

The idea of competing in “La voz generaciones” came about after Dante Dávila, first voice of K’jantu Peru, will participate in “The senior voice”. The so-called ‘Pride of Huancayo’ managed to move the jury when he sang “My pains” by Flor Pucarina. “My children encouraged me to share this artistic moment with them,” she said of returning to the set of Latina.

“I hope that our music and culture are not lost in time and that we can preserve, suddenly, through this type of auditions”, added the vocalist of K’jantu Peru.

To win the prize “The voice of generations”which consists of recording a single at the Universal Music studios in Miami, Dante Dávila hopes that it will serve as a springboard to spread Andean music.

For now, Los Dávila have already arranged presentations together with Eva Ayllón and Christian Yaipén. “This is going to open doors to another type of public, because there are many people who do not know about us ”, he pointed.

The same way, Paul Davila He announced that he will soon launch his solo project. “It will be a fusion between rock, reggae and maybe Andean music”, said. In addition, he distanced himself from what other artists have been doing, such as Ruby Palomino and Lenin, founder of q’pop or Quechua pop. “It may be a bit similar to some other variants, but it will be a totally personal, different proposition,” he said.
