New Delhi: Sourav Ganguly has commented that he doesn’t know what is really happening regarding the women wrestlers’ protest.
Famous wrestlers like Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and others have been protesting day and night since last 23rd at Jandar Mantar, Delhi, demanding action against BJP MP and president of Indian Wrestling Federation, Brij Bhushan Charan Singh. A large number of wrestlers and sportswomen have jumped into the struggle in support of them.
Many people across the country are voicing their support for the wrestlers. Recently former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev and Olympic javelin gold medalist Neeraj Chopra have come out in support of wrestlers.
In this situation, former Indian cricketer and former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly commented on the struggle of wrestlers. Speaking about this in a program, he said, “Let them fight their war. I really don’t know what’s going on there. I got to know from newspapers.
I realized that in the world of sports, we shouldn’t talk about things that we don’t have complete knowledge of. So, I hope this issue gets resolved. Wrestlers have won many medals and awards for the country. I sincerely hope that this issue will be resolved,” Ganguly said.
