Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković, in continuation of his official visit to the Republic of Bulgaria, met with Bulgarian Prime Minister Galab Donev and Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, reports Anadolia.
Galab congratulated Konaković on taking office and welcomed the candidate status that Bosnia and Herzegovina recently received. He expressed his willingness to cooperate and provide all kinds of assistance in fulfilling the fourteen priorities for joining the European Union.
Galab presented important investment projects of the Republic of Bulgaria with the hope that in the near future Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bulgaria will cooperate on that level.
He also emphasized that two agreements between the Republic of Bulgaria and Bosnia and Herzegovina are in the final stage of preparation, and he announced the imminent signing of the Agreement on cooperation in the field of youth and sports, and the Agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism.
Konaković said that Bosnia and Herzegovina is looking for partners for the realization of important investment projects and that he sees the Republic of Bulgaria as one of them. He added that in the post-war period, Bosnia and Herzegovina was a country that needed help, and that now it is a country that offers opportunities for investments and opportunities for partnerships. He invited the Sarajevo Business Forum as well as the International Business Fair in Mostar in May.
The President of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, pointed out at the very beginning of the meeting that the new dynamic in foreign policy was recognized in international circles, and that Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a topic of discussion, was brought back into focus. He added that this is precisely why this is an important moment for Bosnia and Herzegovina that should not be missed.
He pointed out several areas in which he sees a chance to improve cooperation between the two countries, among others, tourism, energy, but also the field of military training and military education, in which they already have previous experience with certain countries.
Konaković said that he was honored to have the opportunity to meet with President Radev, and that the meeting was actually a confirmation of friendly relations. He thanked the fact that the focus on the countries of the Western Balkans was returned precisely during the presidency of the Republic of Bulgaria in the European Union, as well as the European Union enlargement policy that Bulgaria represents.
In the light of the discussion on a large number of opportunities for improving relations, Konaković also used the opportunity at this meeting to send an invitation to the Sarajevo Business Forum and the International Business Fair in Mostar, stressing the importance of such meetings for the development of business cooperation between the two countries.
