The IT and Industries Minister on Wednesday paid homage to the Wem Technology industry at Nimz in Zaheerabad. He then spoke. The center was once again on fire. He said Hyderabad was the hub of the defense industry. He criticized the Corina Center for ignoring the need to set up a defense corridor between Hyderabad and Bangalore. KTR was incensed that the Center had allotted the Defense Corridor to Bundelkhand in UP without any qualifications. He said investments should not come as soon as the defense corridor is given without infrastructure. He said the Center should promote Telangana, a progressive state. Semi-skilled and unskilled jobs should be given preference by industry owners to those in local Zaheerabad. He said 12,600 acres of land had been allotted to Nimz but only 3,500 acres had been acquired so far. Minister KTR demanded that employment should be provided to the farmers and farmer families who lost their land and better compensation should be given to the farmers who lost their land. The event was attended by IT Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan and Wem Technology CMD Venkataraju. Earlier, the KTR was heavily manned by the police in Jharasangam and Nalkal zones on information that farmers were obstructing it. Police imposed restrictions on farmers from leaving the villages. Farmers’ concerns were raised in several villages against Nimz land acquisition.
