Kumbhakarna’s(Kumbhakarna) When the name is mentioned, everyone remembers sleep and food. This role has an importance in Ramayana also.
According to Ramayana Kumbhakarna is the younger brother of Ravana.Also Vibhishana, to Surpana Brother too.
He is Visravarishi, Kaikasi( Visravarishi, Kaikasi ) Son of demons.The name Kumbhakarna means not much sleeper, actually it means Kumbha means pitcher, Karna means ear.
From childhood he was named Kumbhakarna because of his big ears. According to other legends, Kumbhakarna was very strong from childhood.
He also eats a lot of food.
For the whole city Cooked food for him It was not enough. Kumbhakarna’s father Visravasa asked his three sons Ravana, Kumbhakarna and Vibhishana to do penance. Brahma, who was pleased with his penance, appeared.
Then immediately Kumbhakarna instead of his wish for Indrasana came out of his mouth saying Nidrasana. Lord Brahma( Lord Brahma ) said Tadhastu to fulfill his desires.
Kumbhakarna repented when his words were changed and began to plead with Lord Brahma.
Then Lord Brahma was able to reduce that period to only six months. He slept for six months and was awake only for one day.
After that he goes back to sleep. Brahma said that if anyone tried to wake Kumbhakarna while he was sleeping, it would be the last day of Kumbhakarna’s life.
When Ravana began to lose the battle to Lord Rama, these words of Lord Brahma came true. Then Ravana forced Kumbhakarna to wake up and asked for help.
But then Kumbhakarna died in that battle on the same day.
