SEB officials have intensified inspections at AP borders. Illegal alcohol and money are being put on hold. Red sandalwood logs and cannabis smuggling have been increased. Illegal money, gold and alcohol have been seized in recent times. Police have recently nabbed a gold smuggler near the Kurnool Panchalinga border check post. Police conducted vehicle inspections near the checkpost. Police seized 14.8 kg of gold in a bag belonging to a man in an RTC bus. When questioned, he said that he was working as a clerk in a jewelery shop called Rayalaseema Bullion Com Trade Pvt Ltd in Tadipatri, Anantapur district. Ramakrishnareddy, his owner, said he was taking it from a gold shop in Hyderabad as per instructions. The gold was seized and handed over to the Kurnool Urban Police due to lack of evidence. Police are registering and investigating the case. Wednesday also saw a huge influx of money. A search was made in a car coming from Hyderabad. Money was found in a bag in the vehicle. When the money is calculated .. it is up to Rs.50 lakhs. Gujjala Venkataswamy of Budhawarpet has two others. He said he was a former corporator selling a plot of land in Hyderabad and bringing the money under the advance. He was arrested and handed over to the Kurnool taluka urban police for not showing proper documents regarding the money. There they have registered a case and are investigating. The money will be returned if the documents are shown.
