He called for an immediate end to the war in Gaza and asked for aid to the people suffering from the blockade. He also opined that the Palestinian issue can only be resolved by establishing an independent Palestinian state respecting the 1967 borders.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Defense Minister, Prince Khalid bin Salman Al Saud, will visit the US today, The Times of Israel reported citing the American news website Axios. According to the report, he will visit the White House and hold discussions with top officials of the US President Joe Biden’s administration.
The meeting comes amid concerns that the Israel-Hamas war could spill over into the region. Axios revealed that Bin Salman will meet with White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Secretary of State Tony Blinken and several senators.

In the weeks leading up to the war there had been news of progress in US-led diplomacy to normalize Saudi relations with Israel. The Chief of the Israel Defense Forces has informed that the Israeli army is currently conducting ground operations in the Gaza Strip. The country’s media also reported that Israel’s War Cabinet and Security Cabinet unanimously decided to launch a ground attack. The Saudis are also concerned that a ground attack could lead to the spread of conflict in the region.
