Officials said the Ministry of Labor was looking at balancing labor welfare on the one hand and promoting Easy of Doing on the other. The government brought in these four laws which consolidated the 29 central labor laws in the country. One of these labor codes was approved by Parliament in August 2019, while three were approved in September 2020. However, these four have not yet been implemented.
As part of the new labor laws the employee is required to have a basic pay of 50 per cent of the gross salary. The share of deposits to PF is increasing. There is a chance that the salary will come down with this. In addition, the laws state that only four days a week are working days. However, working hours increase to 12 hours a day.
