The Supreme Organizing Committee of the Ladder Cycling Championship announced the launch of a photography competition, in cooperation with the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award, during the activities of the ninth session of the championship organized by the Private Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai, with financial prizes amounting to 3.5 million dirhams.
The Supreme Organizing Committee invited all photographers wishing to participate in capturing the most beautiful moments of excitement and enthusiasm in the sport of cycling during the four races of the ninth session, which begins on December 29th with the Emirati men’s amateur race, followed by the men’s elite race on January 19, 2025, and then the desert race on the 9th. February 2025, and the women’s race on February 16, 2025.
Three prizes will be allocated to the most beautiful photo in each race, and the first place holder will receive 12,000 dirhams, second place 8,000 dirhams, and third place 5,000 dirhams.
Member of the Supreme Organizing Committee and Chairman of the Media Committee, Majid Abdul Rahman Al Bastaki, said that, under the directives of the Director General of the Office of His Highness the Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Ladder Cycling Championship, Omair bin Juma Al Falasi, we are pleased to launch this award, with the aim of documenting the beauty and splendor of Dubai at this time of year, mixed with the sporting competition of bicycle races, providing room for talented people in photography, and appreciating their efforts through prizes that will be allocated in each race.
Al Bastaki valued the partnership with the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award, “which has become a pioneer and influential in society in all its cultural, intellectual and civilizational aspects, and always seeks to stimulate creators in the world of visual arts, which always makes it a destination for all photographers from different countries of the world.” .
He added: “We are all confident that this cooperation will contribute to enriching the Al Salam Cycling Championship and enhancing the status of the championship, which has become a prominent landmark in society.”
A statement issued by the organizing committee of the Ladder Championship said that entries will only be accepted through the award’s website www.hipa.ae, as acceptance of entries for the first day’s race begins at two o’clock in the afternoon until midnight on January 8th. The statement added: “Participants must be at least 18 years old, and each participant can submit between one and a maximum of three photos.”
