After the criticism that the government faced regarding the reforms that the Akhannouch government had to continue implementing, Fawzi Lakjaa, the Minister Delegate in charge of the budget, confirmed that this government will continue to reform the clearing fund, which was initiated by Abdelilah Benkirane, who was head of government, by lifting subsidies on some items supported by the fund. .
Lakjaa told the representatives of the Finance and Economic Development Committee, during his response, yesterday evening, to the representatives’ interventions, that the government will gradually begin lifting the subsidy allocated to the gas bottle, within the framework of the clearing fund.
The Minister of Budget explained that the size of the increase, which will cost the reform, will not exceed 36 dirhams.
Fawzi Lakjaa pointed out that, in return, two-thirds of Moroccan families will receive direct support ranging between 500 and 1,758 dirhams per month.
The minister in the Akhannouch government stated that since 2015, the value of the support spent from the Clearing Fund allocations amounted to 174 billion dirhams.
