New Delhi: The CBI today summoned Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav for the second time in the land-grabbing case.
Investigation agencies have alleged that Lalu Prasad Yadav was involved in irregularities in railway employment during his tenure as Railway Minister. In particular, it has been alleged that the employed persons had written their lands as gifts or at a low price in the names of Lalu’s family members and benamis, thereby committing a fraud of several crores of rupees. Due to this, investigation is being conducted against Lalu Prasad Yadav.
In connection with this case, the enforcement officials yesterday conducted raids at 24 places including Lalu Prasad Yadav’s house in Patna and Delhi. The raid also took place at the Delhi residence of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav. In yesterday’s test, Rs. 53 lakhs in cash, 540 grams of gold, 1.5 kg of gold jewelery were seized.
In this case, the CBI, which is planning to interrogate Tejashwi Yadav, sent a summons to him on the 4th of last month. However, Tejashwi Yadav did not appear for the hearing. Following this, the CBI has sent summons again today.
