Hyderabad: The last Nizam Prince, who was once a world billionaire, died 3 days ago while living in a rented house in Turkey. His body was cremated in Hyderabad yesterday.
Mir Ali Khan Jah Mukran Bahadur (89) was the last prince of the line of Nizams of Hyderabad. He was once a millionaire of the world. Prince Mir Ali Khan Mukhram Ja Bahadur (89) (Mir Buragat Ali Khan), the grandson of the 7th Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Khan and the last prince of the Nizam’s reign, was living in a rented house in Istanbul, Turkey due to ill health. However, he died last Saturday midnight.
Following this, as per his last wish, the body was flown to Hyderabad and placed for public tribute.
Then Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao paid homage. Following this, his body was taken in a procession to the Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad yesterday afternoon. After the last rites, his body was cremated near his father Ajam Jha Samadhi there. A large number of people attended and paid their respects.
Ali Khan Mukhram Ja Bahadur was born on 6.10.1933 to Azam Jah, the eldest son of Usman Ali Khan, and Durha Shahawar, the daughter of Abdul Majid, the last Sultan of Turkey. Usman Ali Khan had two sons, Azam Jah and Yujam Jah. But of these, Azam Jah was not crowned and his son (now deceased) Makram Jah was crowned as the 8th Nizam Prince.
Since then he was known as Prince Nizam of Hyderabad. He has 4 wives and 5 children. Usman Ali Khan was one of the richest people in the world at that time. Makram Jah was the richest man in the world by birth.
After that, he lost money and property due to some bad habits. Wives and children separated. Some wives sought divorce and divided their property. As a result, Makram Ja lost all his property and was reduced to poverty.
He lived independently in a 2-bedroom rented house in Istanbul, Turkey during his last years. It is noteworthy that a writer wrote and published a book about his life history and how an era ended in the book ‘The Last Nizam’ about his condition.
