The planned launch of a European space probe to Jupiter on Thursday did not take place. Nearly 10 minutes before the launcher was due to take off, the countdown ended. The risk of lightning at the launch site in French Guiana is too great, the flight control of the European space agency ESA decided. The next opportunity to launch is Friday at 2:14 PM Dutch time.
