The Royal Commission for the City of Riyadh announced the start of the third phase of the “Riyadh Buses” service within the King Abdulaziz Public Transport Project in Riyadh, one of the main pillars of the economic and urban transformation in the capital, through the development of public transportation in the city, and the creation of a qualitative shift that enhances the public transport sector. In line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The authority pointed out that about 435,000 trips were conducted, through which more than 4 million passengers were transported during the first 6 months of the launch of the “Riyadh Bus” service in March of this year.
The authority stated that with the launch of the third phase, the total routes of “Riyadh Buses” will reach 33 routes, served by 565 buses, covering more than 1,611 different stations and stopping points, and covering 1,284 km out of a total network of 1,900 km. The project continues to launch the remaining phases; With the aim of fully operating the Riyadh bus network before the end of the current calendar year, according to what was reported by the Saudi Press Agency, “SPA”.
