The course of drawing Ukraine into NATO and the appearance of missiles near the borders of Russia provokes serious military risks. This was announced on December 24 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with the Bosnian-Herzegovinian newspaper Oslobodzhene, published on December 24 on the publication’s Facebook page.
According to him, we are talking about a large-scale conflict in Europe.
“The course of drawing Kiev into NATO with the prospect of the appearance of attack missile systems near our borders creates unacceptable threats to the security of Russia, provoking serious military risks for all parties involved, up to a large-scale conflict in Europe,” said the head of Russian diplomacy.
The minister added that Moscow considers it necessary to lower the degree of confrontation caused by the US “tutelage” of its Ukrainian protégés.
Lavrov also noted the unhealthy atmosphere in relations with Washington.
“A lot of ‘irritants’ have accumulated. The Americans are pursuing an openly unfriendly line: they are imposing sanctions, making unsubstantiated accusations against us, taking other hostile steps, ”he said.
This creates a toxic atmosphere that prevents professional communication.
