English football club Leicester City has signed Tottenham midfielder Oliver Skipp in a deal worth $32 million.
The 23-year-old midfielder has agreed a five-year deal with the newly promoted Premier League club, who won the title in the 2015-16 season.
Leicester City return to the Premier League after one season in the Championship, and play their first match against Tottenham.
Skipp said the opportunity to work with Leicester City manager Steve Cooper, who managed the midfielder in the Three Lions’ youth set-up, convinced him to make the move to the King Power Stadium.
“I have a feeling it’s a good group of people and a good group of players. I’m sure we have a team that can challenge in every game,” he continued.
“You look around the squad and there are a lot of exciting players who have played in the Premier League and I’m really excited to see what this group can achieve,” he added.
“The staff here know me as well. I worked with Steve at England (age-age) level, so there’s definitely a good relationship and I’m keen to get on and show what I can do,” he added.
Skipp joined Tottenham’s academy at the age of six and went on to make 106 appearances for the north London club. He also spent the 2020-21 season on loan at Norwich City.
