Kolkata: The Duleep Trophy series for the current year is going to start on 28th. In this case, the wicketkeeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha has clearly stated that he is not going to participate in this series. Jayantha, selector of the Tripura team, has given the information regarding this.
“I contacted Saha. He refused to play in the Duleep Trophy. This domestic first-class cricket series gives players an opportunity to play for the Indian team. But I will never play for India again. So he told me to let the young player play in my place,” said Jayantha.
This mind of Saha increases the respect for him manifold. After Dhoni’s retirement from Test cricket, Saha played as the main wicket-keeper in the Indian team. Saha’s number of matches decreased when youngster Rishabh Pant came into the team. He last played for the Indian team in December 2021. After that he did not get a chance in the team.
Vaithana Saha has played 40 Tests for the Indian team at 38. He added 1,353 runs through it. It includes 3 cents and 6 half-cents. Has 92 catches and 12 stumpings. He has also played in 9 ODIs. He has played 122 First Class matches and 102 List A matches.
