San Francisco. Global financial advisory firm Deloitte will cut around 1,200 jobs in the US. According to a report in the Financial Times, the risk and financial advisory division of Deloitte will cut the workforce by three per cent. On Friday, ride-hailing firm Lyft announced a reduction in team size as part of a restructuring to focus on better serving the needs of riders and drivers.
According to reports, 30 percent of the company’s 4,000 employees may be affected.
Lyft CEO Davieu Rischer said, “I take responsibility for this decision, and understand that it will come at a great cost.” We’re not just talking about team members, we’re talking about relationships with people who’ve worked together for years.
Those affected will receive at least 10 weeks’ pay.
The fresh sorties of LIFT will be held on April 27. The company had laid off 13 per cent of its employees in November last year.
We need to be a fast and friendly company, where everyone is close to our riders and drivers, so that we can meet this objective,” said the CEO. We need to provide affordable rides, attractive earnings for drivers and reduce our costs for growth.
