Al Wasl player and national team Fabio Lima confirmed that he did not talk about his transfer to Al Ain ranks next season, indicating that the video clip that was circulated on social media regarding his joining the “leader” is just a joke with a number of children.
Lima said in press statements after the Al Wasl and Al Bataeh match in the 15th round of the ADNOC Professional League, which ended with the victory of the “Emperor” with three goals to one: “After the Al Wasl match with Fujairah in the President’s Cup, I was surprised by a number of children chanting my name, and they asked me to Joining Al Ain, and my response to them as a joke was that I said, “Okay, next season I will move to him.”
He added, “I am bound by a contract with Al Wasl, and I am not thinking of leaving the team, as I feel happy with the ’emperor’, and I seek to do everything I have to help him achieve victories.”
Al Wasl’s top scorer talked about the victory over Al Bataeh and its importance, and said: “We achieved victory in an important match against a strong opponent, especially since in the past matches he presented strong levels and achieved good results.”
He continued, “We saw how Al-Bataeh was able to return to the result against Ittihad Kalba in the 14th round after falling behind by two goals, in addition to its victory over the same team in the President’s Cup, so we expected the match to be difficult, and we had a great focus on achieving victory.”
He continued: “The next match will be against Dibba Al-Fujairah, and it is a difficult match. We must be fully focused in order to achieve victory, and continue to compete for the lead.”
In response to a question about Al Wasl’s chances of competing for the title, he said: “In all honesty, we are fighting to stay with the teams competing for the title, and we have a good team, but we must focus more, play step by step, and why not achieve the title in the end, as We are presenting good levels, and we have achieved results that help us win the shield.”
