The FIFA organization has announced the award for the best performers in the ongoing football world cup.
Argentina’s Lionel Messi and France’s Kylian Mbappe, who played in the World Cup finals, were in contention for the best player award, with Lionel Messi winning the award.
England’s Beth Mead, America’s Alex Morgan and Spain’s Alexia Butellas were in the running for the Women’s Footballer of the Year award. Alexia Butellas was eventually chosen for the award.
Yassin Bouno of Morocco, Emiliano Martinez of Argentina and Thibaut Courtois of Belgium were in the running for the best goalkeeper award.
