Sports Desk. The second match of the three-match T20 series being played between England and Australia (ENG vs AUS) will be played tomorrow night i.e. on 13 September. In this match played at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff, English batsman Liam Livingstone played a brilliant innings of 87 (47) runs and brought his team to a draw in the series (T20 series).
Livingstone batted explosively and scored 87 runs in 47 balls with the help of six fours and five sixes. With the help of his stormy half-century, England defeated Australia by three wickets in the second T20 match and tied the three-match series 1-1. Apart from batting, Livingstone also took two wickets in bowling. Livingstone was awarded the Player of the Match award for his all-round performance.
In this match (T20 series), Australia batted first and scored 193 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Australia’s regular captain Mitchell Marsh did not play in this match. Explosive batsman Jake Fraser-McGurk got a chance in his place. Travis Head took over the captaincy of Australia. McGurk made good use of this opportunity and scored his first international T20 half-century, scoring 50 runs in 31 balls with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes.
In reply, England achieved this target by losing seven wickets in 19 overs. Apart from Livingstone, Jacob Bethell contributed 44 runs in 24 balls and Philip Salt contributed 39 runs in 23 balls. For Australia, Matthew Short took five wickets for just 22 runs in three overs. But he also failed in front of Livingstone’s fiery batting and could not make his team win. Apart from him, Sean Abbott took two wickets. Earlier, Australia had performed brilliantly in the first match and defeated England by 28 runs.
