The tacit approval by the West of the strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on a hospital in the city of Novoaidar in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), which resulted in the death of people, will have dire consequences for the whole world. This was announced on January 28 by the acting head of the LPR, Leonid Pasechnik.
“The tacit approval by the West of the Ukrainian regime’s disregard for the fundamental foundations of humanitarian law encourages militants around the world and, no doubt, will have grave consequences for the entire world community,” Pasechnik said in his Telegram channel.
The acting head of the LPR also expressed condolences to the families and friends of the victims, and wished recovery to the wounded.
In turn, Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, stressed earlier on Saturday that the United States was directly involved in the deaths of civilians in Novayadar. He noted that the strike of the UAF militants on a hospital in a city in the LPR is a monstrous war crime.
On January 28, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the building of the regional hospital in Novoaydar with rockets from the American HIMARS multiple launch rocket system. As a result, 14 people died and 24 were injured. The department called the attack on the hospital a grave war crime of the Kyiv regime.
For many months, civilian and military doctors provided medical assistance to the local population and military personnel in the Novoaydar hospital. According to the former ambassador of the republic, Rodion Miroshnik, the hospital has been evacuated, and the rubble is being cleared at the moment.
Footage taken from inside the building shows piles of stone and iron. Some structures of the building were completely destroyed.
On the same day, Ukrainian troops fired artillery at a medical facility in Nova Kakhovka. According to a representative of the emergency services of the Kherson region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired 17 shells from cannon artillery at the hospital campus of the Sokol plant.
On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special operation to protect Donbass. The decision was made against the background of the aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian military.
