Sitapur30-year-old Neeraj lost his life in a tractor competition organised without permission on Saturday afternoon in Atesuva village of Itaunja. In the accident, Jogendra, the driver sitting on the other tractor, was injured. Neeraj had placed a bet of 10 thousand rupees with Jogendra.
According to eyewitnesses, a tractor competition was being organized in an empty field in Atesuva village in the afternoon. In the competition, Neeraj, a resident of Himmatnagar Ataria Sitapur, was on one tractor and Jogendra, a resident of Azrailpur Itaunja, was on the other. The rear parts of both the tractors were connected through a chain. Apart from this, sacks filled with soil were kept on both the seats of the tractor.
As soon as they got the signal, both of them started racing. Meanwhile, Neeraj’s tractor overturned. Neeraj got stuck under the tractor in the accident. About 100 people standing near the ground took a lot of effort to pull Neeraj out from under the tractor. However, he had died by then.
According to the villagers, Neeraj had won thousands of rupees several times by betting in this way in the Bahubali tractor competition. That is why he often bet with people about pulling the tractor. During the competition, many people were standing in the field and making videos. The video went viral on social media late in the evening. Inspector Itaunja Markandey Yadav said that he has not received any complaint in this regard. Nor has anyone given any information. On receiving the complaint, the matter will be investigated and action will be taken.
