New Delhi: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Rajya Sabha has responded to the criticism of the opposition parties saying, “If you spread the mud, the lotus will bloom.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Rajya Sabha today (Thursday) on the motion of thanks for the President’s speech. Prime Minister Modi addressed the opposition parties demanding an inquiry into the Adani case. The opposition raised slogans meaning ‘Modi and Adani together’ (Modi, Adani bhai, bhai).
Prime Minister Modi said in his speech: “The behavior of some of their members and the tone of their speech is a disappointment to the entire nation. I want to tell those people one thing. The lotus blossoms to wash away the mud. We are thankful that the opposition is spreading the mud and making the lotus grow.
The central government is implementing numerous welfare schemes for the people. 20 lakh crore rupees have gone to the respective accounts of users through Jan Dhan, Aadhaar, mobile connectivity. Everything is lip service for the Congress party. As of 2014, more than half of the country’s population is unbanked. But in the last 9 years, the BJP government has opened 48 crore bank accounts.
We do not leave any people behind. For many years no one cared about the quality of life of the tribal people. We are giving high priority to welfare schemes for them. We selected 110 districts across the country and focused on basic facilities like education, health and infrastructure. More than 3 crore tribal people have benefited through this.
India’s exports in the defense sector have increased. We export military equipment worth Rs.1 lakh crore. Likewise, India has emerged as a global pharmaceutical hub due to the talent of our scientists and researchers. When the Corona Pandemic gripped the world, the sale of vaccines from other countries in the Indian market was put under pressure. Attempts were made to defame our scientists. But our Indian scientists have developed vaccines in our own country and given its benefits to 150 countries.
Central government policies are all problem solving. But the previous Congress government only made promises. Congress’s economic, social and political policies are based on the vote bank.
The BJP government has ensured clean drinking water to 11 crore families across the country. Before 2014, only 3 crore people had this facility. In total, India was behind by 60 years under the Congress rule. All countries smaller than India have progressed. But the opposition parties are running false campaigns against the government.
The central government is striving to empower women. Small farmers are the backbone of Indian agriculture sector. We are working to strengthen their arms. They accuse us of troubling state governments.
But they have dissolved governments elected by the people 90 times. A Congress Prime Minister has used Article 356 50 times. She was none other than Indira Gandhi.
There are more than 600 projects in the name of Gandhi and Nehru family. But why are those who came his way reluctant to add his name behind? Jawaharlal Nehru was a great man. Then what shame would befall them in using the name Nehru?” Prime Minister Modi has pointed out various things in his long speech.
