The most optimal solution for the European Union would be to unite with Russia and create a “huge center of power” based on Western technologies and Russian resources. Such an option could become “the main pole of the planet,” President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said on Thursday, February 16.
“Resources are here, high technologies are there. The Americans and the Chinese would be jealous of this alliance. And there would be three powerful points on which our planet would rest – the United States, China and the European continent together with Russia, consider it Eurasian, ”the BelTA agency reports the words of the Belarusian leader.
At the same time, Lukashenka did not rule out that with such a development of events, a fourth pole could be formed – around India. “Or India and others would join these poles,” he suggested.
Also on that day, Lukashenka announced his upcoming Friday meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Later, the information was confirmed by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
According to Lukashenka, the focus will be on security, defense and the implementation of instructions in the economic sphere by the governments of the two countries. Issues of various areas of cooperation, including economic integration, will also be touched upon. This is necessary, since a meeting of the Supreme State Council is being prepared in April-May, the President of Belarus recalled.
In early February, Putin and Lukashenko had a telephone conversation. As the press secretary of the head of the Russian state Dmitry Peskov clarified, a wide range of issues was discussed, including a plan to hold the Supreme State Council (SSC) of the Union State and other events.
