In a few days, Camila Escribens’ successor as Miss Peru Universe will be announced. The final of the beauty contest will be held on June 9 at the Real Felipe facilities. In this edition, the favorites to be crowned are the so-called ‘challengers’, who already have experience in the contest led by Jessica Newton. One of them is Luren Márquez, a young model who lives outside the country.
“I want to inspire other women to fight for their goals. I have put many projects on hold to give everything for my country and, if the public allows it, aspire to become the next representative of Miss Peru Universe 2024,” says Luren, a native of Ica, for La República.
Who is Luren Márquez?
Luren Márquez is a model and presenter on large television stations such as Univisión and Telemundo, where she actively participates. Now, she has taken on the challenge of representing the Peruvian communities in the United States and will do her best to be crowned Miss Peru Universe 2024.

Luren Márquez already has experience in this type of contest: he won the contest in 2018 Miss Teen International. The model represents Moda Perú, which has Peruvian designers based in the US and who are optimistic about her application. In addition, she has had the opportunity to walk for prestigious brands such as Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, Custo Barcelona, Walter Méndez and Gianina Azar, among others.
The altruistic side of Luren Márquez
Not everything is fashion, flashes and beauty for Márquez. The model takes advantage of the popularity she has on social networks to develop her social work as a collaborator of the NGO Tarpu Warmi, that supports low-income girls in Moyobamba. For this reason, Luren hopes to gain maximum recognition to continue with the social work that she does in North American lands.
The current Miss Peru USA points out that she takes on this challenge in her life with great responsibility, as she knows well that, if she wins Miss Peru Universe 2024, she will seek to more effectively help those in need. “Tarpu Warmi supports girls from the Soritoy school in Moyobamba who do not have the financial resources to study. “Through this beauty pageant we can help many people who really need it.”he indicates.

Luren Márquez proud of her roots
—What do you want to project with your participation in Miss Peru 2024?
—My goal is to demonstrate that beauty goes beyond the superficial, it lies in the ability to positively influence society, to act with integrity and compassion. I want to be an example of how to face challenges with courage and resilience, love and passion. The same ones that I have used in my path and my personal and professional growth.
—Do you think that the Miss Peru ‘challengers’ have a greater advantage in winning the contest?
—Each candidate is a different world, and they all have different personalities that make them unique. I don’t think anyone has an advantage over anyone else; For example, mother candidates maintain a strength that impacts and gives a very captivating projection.

—What is your greatest virtue to represent Peruvian women well?
—An unmistakable characteristic of Peruvian women is that they are fighters, and that is one of the most outstanding qualities that I carry with me. We are not afraid to start something alone, we are pushed forward.
—What has been the biggest challenge of living outside your country?
—Without a doubt, starting from scratch in a new country, with a new culture, without having a family, gave me an inner strength that has been one of the most important stepping stones to being who I am today.
