‘Maha’ twist: Offer & disqualification for Shiv Sena rebel MLAs .. How does it work?

మPolitical developments in Haryana took hours by hour. While some more MLAs were arriving at the Rebel MLAs’ camp in Guwahati led by Eknath Shinde, two MLAs left for Mumbai from that camp. Shiv Sena spokesperson, MP Sanjay Routh’s offer to look into the issue of Shiv Sena exiting the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance if all the dissenting MLAs return to Mumbai within 24 hours seems to have created a stir in the camp. At the same time, the Shiv Sena is preparing to launch a disqualification drive against Rebel MLAs. Information that the Governor will be recommended for disqualification hunting on 12 MLAs initially.

The magic figure in the assembly will be reduced if the governor approves the proposal and hunts down the rebel MLAs. The Shiv Sena’s strategy seems to be to retain power with the support of NCP and Congress members. Meanwhile, Eknath Shinde seems to be working on a plan to pacify some of the rebel MLAs in the camp and bring them back.

However, the issue of disqualification hunting depends entirely on the decision of the governor. It became interesting what kind of decision the governor would make in this context. Besides, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari is currently being treated at a hospital for corona. The Governor of Goa has been given additional responsibilities as the Governor of Maharashtra. The Rebel MLAs then elected Eknath Shinde as their floor leader.

All rebel MLAs should come to Mumbai: Pawar
On the other hand, NCP chief Sharad Pawar made key remarks on the political developments in Maharashtra. Maha Vikas Aghadi said the fate of the government in the state would be decided in the assembly itself. He said the BJP had played a role in the crisis in the Maharashtra government.

‘The fate of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government is not in Guwahati (the area where the Rebel MLAs are) but in the Assembly itself. The government will have to prove a majority in the assembly. All the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs will have to return to Mumbai and face the assembly. At that time, BJP leaders from Gujarat and Assam would not be here to provide guidance, ”Sharad Pawar joked.
