New Delhi. Maharana Pratap’s descendant and former MP Mahendra Singh Mewar has passed away. Mahendra Singh Mewar was ill for some time and was undergoing treatment. Mahendra Singh Mewar was 83 years old and was hospitalized for a few days. Mewar was elected to the Lok Sabha from Chittorgarh parliamentary seat as a BJP candidate in 1989.
Mahendra Singh Mewar, a member of the erstwhile Mewar royal family, died at a private hospital in Udaipur on Sunday. Many leaders from across the country, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, have expressed condolences on his demise.
Former Mewar royal family member and former MP Mahendra Singh Mewar will merge with Panchtatva on Monday. The body will be kept in Samor Bagh from 8 to 11 am for the last darshan. Then the last journey will start at 11 o’clock. The last journey will reach Mahasatiyan from Samor Bagh via Jagdish Chowk, Ghantaghar, Bada Bazaar, Bhadbhuja Valley, Delhi Gate. There is a wave of mourning in the entire Mewar due to the demise of Mahendra Singh Mewar.

Mahendra Singh Mewar had led the political journey with Atal Bihari Vajpayee and then was elected MP of Chittorgarh in the year 1989 by contesting elections as a BJP candidate. Then in the year 1990, he also became a member of the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Industry. Later he joined Congress and contested the elections again, in which he lost the elections. He graduated from Mayo College, Ajmer. Mahendra Singh Mewar became the head of the former royal family of Mewar after the death of his father Bhagwat Singh in the year 1984.
