At first he only noticed a small wound on his nose and went to the doctor, the Dutchman said in an interview with the magazine “Freizeit Revue”, according to “schlager.de”. The shock diagnosis: black skin cancer! “It was vicious,” says Heintje.
Tissue was cut out of his nose several times, painful operations.

“If it had developed further, it could have been eye-catching, then the eye would be gone. “You can really get scared,” says the otherwise cheerful singer.
Then the great relief: the cancer hasn’t spread yet. After about six months, he now hopes he has gotten over it. But the healing is still ongoing. Heintje: “I now have to go to the doctor at shorter intervals every few months.”
