Kolkata. The West Bengal government has moved the Calcutta High Court against the sentence of the Special Court of Sealdah in the RG Kar rape and murder case. Sanjay Roy, convicted of Kolkata rape and murder, was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Sealdah court on Monday. Now Mamata government has reached Calcutta High Court against this decision.
Advocate General Kishore Dutta, on behalf of the Bengal government, filed a petition against the decision of the Sealdah court. He said, life imprisonment of convict Sanjay Roy is not right. He should be given death sentence. Sanjay was presented in the court on Monday under very tight security. The parents of the deceased were also present there. During the hearing, Sanjay again declared himself innocent and accused him of framing him.
Let us tell you that earlier the judge had said that before pronouncing the sentence, Sanjay Roy will be given a chance to speak once again. Before giving the verdict, the judge asked Sanjay whether his family members had any contact with him or not. In response to this Sanjay said no.

On the other hand, the parents of the trainee doctor have said that they are not satisfied with the session court’s decision to sentence the convict Sanjay Roy to life imprisonment. A doctor on duty was raped and murdered. Why is this not the rarest of rare cases? He claimed that the investigation was not conducted properly. Many people have been rescued. After getting the copy of the decision from the Sessions Court, we will go to the High Court.
