The Dortmund Public Prosecutor’s Office said a fine has been imposed on the man who climbed onto the roof of the Dortmund stadium during Germany’s Euro 2024 round of 16 win over Denmark.
The 21-year-old was fined 1,050 euros ($1,164) for the incident on June 30, the office said.
The man from Osnabrück was spotted climbing the rafters below the roof during the match. He was kept under surveillance by police until the end of the match, when a special force took him out and arrested him.
The next day, police announced that the man wanted to take some pictures from an unusual location. Media outlets reported a major security breach, especially since he was masked and carrying a backpack, but police confirmed that the backpack contained camera equipment.
