New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party has alleged that former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia was not kept in the Vipassana room with meditation facility in Tihar Jail, but was kept with other prisoners.
Aam Aadmi Party National Spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj said, “Manish Sisodia had requested that he should be given a room with meditation facilities in the jail. The court had accepted it. Although the court had approved it, he was kept in the jail with the criminals in room number 1. The central government should respond to this. He said.
Former Delhi minister Manish Sisodia, who has been arrested in the liquor policy case, has been lodged in the senior citizen cell of Tihar Jail. Officials had informed that he will be lodged in cell number 1 of Tihar Jail.
Earlier, Manish Sisodia was the Deputy Chief Minister in the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi. Alleged involvement in corruption through liquor policy. On February 26, the CBI arrested him after an 8-hour interrogation. With the permission of the court, he was interrogated for 7 days in CBI custody. Sisodia was produced before a special court in Delhi on Monday afternoon as CBI custody ended.
Special Judge MK Nagpal ordered him to be remanded in judicial custody for 14 days till March 20. Subsequently, he was lodged in Tihar Jail.
At that time permission was given to Sisodia to supply the prescribed medicines, 2 pairs of nose glasses, a diary, a pen and a Bhagavad Gita book. Notably, the court ordered the jail authorities to consider Sisodia’s request to be confined in a room with meditation facilities.
