Jockey Mansour Khamis Al-Sheddi won the 101-kilometre Martyrs’ Day Cup endurance race for private stables, yesterday, in Dubai International Endurance City, with the participation of 90 male and female knights from various private stables and equestrian clubs in the country.
Mansour Al-Shadi clinched the title on the horse “Nail Boy”, owned by Zabeel Stables, after he came in third place in the first stage, a distance of 35 km, and fell to seventh place in the second stage, a distance of 25 km, while he advanced to second place in the third stage, a distance of 21 km. Before he jumped to the lead in the fourth stage, a distance of 20 kilometers.
Knight Fares Ahmed Al Mansouri came in second place, riding the horse “Lepanto”, owned by SS Stables, after coming in 11th place in the first stage, advancing to eighth place in the second stage, and jumping to third place in the third stage, while he finished the race in Runner-up.
He was followed in third place by the jockey Ahmed Ali Al Marzouqi, riding the horse “Adrar”, owned by Al Qubaisi Stables, after he came in 13th place in the first stage, and jumped to second place in the second stage, and continued his progress by rising to first place in the third stage, before falling back.
