His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, witnessed the final of the “World Triathlon Championship T100” yesterday, at the Meydan Track in Dubai, and His Highness praised the performance of the participants competing for the World Championship title.
His Highness said, “Holding the final of the T100 World Triathlon Championship reflects Dubai’s leading position as an exemplary destination for hosting and organizing the most important tournaments and events in various sports,” stressing that “the sports sector in Dubai continues to achieve further growth, and enhance Dubai’s attractiveness for hosting and organizing these tournaments.” The major international sporting event, and providing all means and components to make it successful due to its advanced infrastructure and world-class sports facilities, have contributed to consolidating its position as a preferred sports destination for hosting and organizing major sporting events and events with success and distinction.”
It is noteworthy that Martin van Riel X from Belgium won the men’s elite race, ending the season by winning the prestigious world title, and in the women’s elite race, American Taylor Knipp gave a wonderful performance to win the race and championship titles, and strengthen her control over this sport.
Caroline Bridges from the United Kingdom took first place in the women’s race, recording a time of 04:02:27 hours, and Frenchman Quentin Amaral, who lives in the Emirates, won second place, after crossing the finish line in a time of 03:25:46 hours.
