Chaibasa: Two security personnel were injured in a gunfight between Maoist militants and security forces in West Singhbum district of Jharkhand state yesterday.
Maoists are active in the forests of Jharkhand’s Danto region. A reward of Rs 1 crore has been announced for the head of Maoist leader Misir Besra here. Here, the Central Reserve Police Force and the Jharkhand Police have been involved in a search operation for the last 2 weeks.
In yesterday’s search, there was a long gun battle between the two sides. Golcon zone DIG Ajay Linda said that 2 soldiers were injured. The search continues here. Explosives were buried in many places to attack the security forces during the search operation. Along with the explosives, a large number of weapons were seized in the raid.
