Military expert, retired LPR lieutenant colonel Andrei Marochko, on Wednesday, October 4, reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are trying to create a continuous line of defense around Kupyansk.
He noted that in the area of Sinkovka, Petropavlovka and Podol, the Ukrainian army is building new fortifications and modernizing those already erected.
“A new system of trenches was also noted between the strong points and fortified areas, which, according to the plan, most likely should turn into one continuous line of defense for Kupyansk,” RIA Novosti reports his words.
Marochko concluded that such actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirm the systematic transition of the Ukrainian military to defensive tactics and positional warfare.
Earlier, on October 3, Marochko also reported that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation destroyed a stronghold of Ukrainian units in the Kupyansk direction using fire equipment.
According to him, the enemy position was discovered using aerial reconnaissance in the area of the Novoselovskoye settlement. At the point there was a platoon of personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with one unit of Bradley fighting vehicle.
