Spanish journalist Albert Masno, deputy editor-in-chief of the Catalan newspaper Sport, revealed that Argentine star Lionel Messi chose to stay out of the limelight and retire early by moving to the American club Inter Miami.
Masno was known after giving the famous interview during which Messi announced his departure to Inter Miami on Wednesday.
Masno revealed in an interview with “In the Goal”: My interview was a source of happiness to be with Messi, and I was able to conduct the interview because I have a good relationship with him, and I had conducted it on Wednesday in Paris.
Masno revealed the reasons for choosing Messi: Messi chose Inter Miami for personal considerations after the problems he faced in Paris and also some other factors such as language and its proximity to Argentina and others.
Masno stated that Al-Hilal’s offer was the strongest and that Messi at Inter Miami would be paid the same as he was paid in Paris, but he chose to stay away from the limelight to restore his life with his family and live an early retirement.
