A massive accident involving 15 cars on the federal highway Syzran-Saratov-Volgograd was provoked by a truck driver. As told on March 12 in the Traffic Police Department in Saratov, a man in conditions of poor visibility allowed the trailer to skid.
“… drove into the oncoming lane and collided with another truck. Further, in conditions of limited visibility, two more accidents occurred on this section of the road, in which a total of 15 cars participated, ”said the representative of the department.
It is known that as a result of the accident, eight people were taken to hospitals. It is reported that the accident was caused by fog.
Traffic police inspectors organized a detour for passenger vehicles through the city of Khvalynsk in the direction of the village of Alekseevka with access to the federal highway, and also redirected freight transport moving from Saratov through the city of Balakovo.
Earlier on March 12, it was reported that a massive accident occurred on the highway in the Saratov region. It was noted that 14 people, including children, were hospitalized. The accident happened at 7:44 on the 93rd kilometer of the R-228 Saratov-Syzran-Volgograd highway. To coordinate the activities of the services, the prosecutor of Khvalynsk Sergey Silaev went to the scene.
On February 26, a mass accident involving 25 cars occurred in the Novgorod region. One person died and 12 were injured. The accident happened on a section of traffic towards Moscow. The reasons were called snowfall and icing of the track.
