It is estimated that this fire in the forests of California has caused a loss of 50 billion dollars. The number of people who died in the fire has also increased to 7. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the biggest fire is in the Palisades Forest. An area of 20,000 acres has been burnt to ashes due to this fire.
60 companies are working day and night to extinguish the fire. From helicopters to planes, foam and water are being rained from the sky to extinguish the fire. Rescue and rehabilitation work is going on in full swing. Till now 2 lakh people have been taken to safe places. Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone said the Eaton fire has been largely stopped from growing, although it is still fierce. Meanwhile, wind speeds of 160 km per hour at the beginning of the week have slowed slightly, allowing air support for crews on the ground.
As thousands of residents evacuated their homes due to the fire, looters began targeting vacant homes. The incidents of looting increased so much that the authorities had to issue a warning.
