Batting first, Kolkata Knight Riders scored 146 for 9 in 20 overs. Nitish Rana scored a half century in the team while captain Shreyas Iyer played a responsible innings. Rana hit 57 off 34 balls with three fours and four sixes while Shreyas hit 42 off 37 balls with four fours. Openers Finch 3 (7) and Venkatesh Iyer 6 (12) were the only batsmen to reach the pavilion. Kuldeep Yadav took four wickets for Delhi Capitals while Mustafizur Rehman took three wickets. Chetan Zakaria and Akshar Patel took four wickets each. Mustafizur gave up just two runs in the last over and took three wickets.
Opener Prithviraj Shah lost his wicket with the first ball of Delhi’s 147-run target set by Kolkata. Mitchell Marsh also made his way to the pavilion in the second over. The Delhi Capitals lost two wickets for just 17 runs. David Warner then shared a 65-run stand for the third wicket with Lalit Yadav, who came into the crease.
