The first announcement of BlizzCon was the next hero of Overwatch 2.
This is Mauga, a huge Samoan who carries two large machine guns and who will act as a tank in the team. One of his special abilities, Cardiac Overdrive, allows him to regain health while damaging enemies, and the other is an unstoppable charge called Overrun. The ultimate, Cage Fight, traps enemies in a ring that blocks healing and damage from the outside, with Mauga gaining infinite ammo for its duration.
According to the North American company, this new character will be “easy to learn to use, but difficult to master.” This weekend, BlizzCon attendees can start trying it out.
Mauga will be added to Overwatch 2 in season eight, but Blizzard has also offered a small look at the two heroes coming after him. This is Venture, in the tenth season, and one known at the moment as Space Ranger, in the twelfth. Next year, in addition, a new PvP mode called Clash will arrive, a remodeling of the competitive system and the return of the Hanamura map from the first Overwatch, which will have the name Hanaoka.
