(CNN) — Start saying goodbye to your coworkers because you may soon retire with a $1 billion lottery ticket.
Okay, probably not. But Wednesday night’s $1 billion Powerball drawing – combined with an ever-growing Mega Millions jackpot – means some lucky winners could become millionaires even if they don’t win the jackpot.
No one matched all six numbers in Tuesday night’s Mega Millions jackpot drawing: 19, 22, 31, 37, 54, with a “megaball” of 18.
That means the top prize in this Friday’s Mega Millions drawing is worth an estimated $720 million, with a cash value in a single payment of $369.6 million.
If you can’t wait until Friday to buy 264 LaFerrari Ferraris (or whatever supercar you prefer), the Powerball drawing — which has a $1 billion jackpot prize pool — will take place at 10:59 p.m. Miami time this Wednesday.
The colossal jackpot is the seventh largest in US lottery history and the third largest for Powerball. Last year, one lucky winner scooped up the record $2.04 billion jackpot in California.
