Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new 13.71 km stretch of the Bangalore Metro Rail Project Phase-II expansion last Saturday. With the availability of this new route, Bangalore Metro has overtaken Hyderabad Metro and climbed to the second position. The city has the second longest metro line in the country.
A new metro line running from Whitefield (Kadugodi) to Krishnarajapuram will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 4,249 crores was built. A metro station has been constructed at Nallurhalli metro station on this route. The metro station was waterlogged due to rain yesterday evening.
Some users shared the scenes of rain water entering Nalluruhalli Metro station through Bangalore Citizen Forum Twitter account. There is standing water on the platform and at the ticketing counter. Netizens are commenting satirically on this.
A user commented, ‘If this happens only if it rains a little.. what will happen in the rainy season’. Some passengers criticized the government saying that ‘before the inauguration ceremony, they should check whether the infrastructure is in order or not..’
Another user commented, ‘This is what happens when metro stations are started in a hurry without completing the work properly’.
